The Process
All my work is individual and handmade. My work is thrown, trimmed and decorated with various slips to produce designs that reflect what I see around me. Once dry, my work is bisque fired to 1000'c and then glazed, I aim to use natural materials as much as I can including ash glazes. All my work is then fired in a wood soda kiln, this turbulent firing technique creates vibrant and unpredictable textures and colours. This unpredictability creates a surprise with every kiln opening.
